PRIVATE CITY GARDEN

Zurich-Albisrieden, Switzerland

Cornelia Hürzeler, Citizen Scientist
Madeleine Geiger, StadtWildTiere Zürich

With the help of residents, the project stadtwildtiere.ch collects data on the numbers and distribution of wildlife such as hedgehogs, bats, and wild bees in Zurich and other cities. Many of these species are coming under pressure from high-density housing. Others, such as the fox, are proliferating—and a badger family also likes to visit this garden.
